Global colour authority Pantone has announced that Honeysuckle will be its Colour of the Year for 2011. Following on from 2010's titleholder Turquoise, Honeysuckle's vibrant reddish pink tone is intended to energise, invigorate and prepare us for everyday trials.
Pantone's executive director Leatrice Eiseman said of the choice, "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating colour that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues. Honeysuckle derives its positive qualities from a powerful bond to its mother colour red, the most physical, viscerally alive hue in the spectrum.”
