Central Saint Martins' MA student Paulo Goldstein has created a collection of six hacked objects - including this steampunk-style lamp. The project taps into our tendency to form deep bonds with objects we use regularly: Goldstein advocates a culture of repair and reconnection, and each object has been fixed using creativity, craftsmanship and a touch of ingenuity.
To see more contemporary designs drawing on the steampunk aesthetic, read our Steampunk report. For more hacked solutions, subscribers can read our autumn/winter 2013/13 macro trend, Hack-tivate.
