Cryptographer by Raw Color |
Inspired by the ever more digital world we are living in, Dutch design studio

Remon van den Eijnden,
Peter Bust and programming specialists
Bart van der Linden and
Studio Watt to design a cryptographer which turns the patterns of digital messages into encoded textiles.

The invisible waves of words are made permanenent using messages sent via computer to the printer. Each letter is represented by a set of linear strokes painted on by a bleach-tipped pen attached to the printer head of the cryptographer, so that the size of each finished textile is determined by the message it represents.

The bleach patterns appear differently depending on the textile fed through the Cryptographer, resulting in unique pieces each time.
