For a children’s workshop at the Centre Pompidou-Metz, Celine Merhand and Anaïs Morel of Les M Design Studio have created an environment which is soft and bright, with the introduction of Pillow - an interactive, giant floor cushion.
The pair have worked together for four years since their graduation from the School of Fine Arts in Rennes. Pillow is a continuation of Les M’s exploration into Comfort XXL, a project initiated with Cocoon - a cross between a duvet and a chair.
Pillow, or ‘nest’ as the duo refers to it, is packed out using polyurethane foam and polystyrene beads. It encourages children to adapt the form of the soft environment it creates, allowing playful interaction and creativity.
Pillow by Les M Design Studio will feature at the Centre Pompidou-Metz until 16 January 2012.
