The Andaz Hotel, Liverpool Street has collaborated with designer Eyal Burstein of Beta Tank to create an advent calendar inspired table for the festive season. The display shows all the crockery needed for a tea party - which has been moulded into the table to appear as if it's melting.
Burstein searched in London's Brick Lane, Petticoat Lane and Spitalfield markets for the tea cups, bowls and other trinkets that have been moulded into the octagonal hand-made resin table. Each day, like a real advent calendar, the Andaz pastry chef will prepare something to be revealed from one of the containers on the table, which will then be served to guests with warming festive drinks.
"Christmas is a special time of year at the Hotel and the advent table captures the essence of the season – generosity, warmth and unity. We wanted to create a welcoming area in our Andaz Lounge for guests as well as the local community to gather and share the festive spirit," says Arnaud de Saint Exupéry, Andaz Liverpool Street General Manager.
