RCA student Samantha Donaldson's coldworked glass sculptures are inspired by the art of lapidary: the ancient artisan practice of cutting precious stones into faceted forms.
Using agates and the strata of rock formations as a visual reference, Donaldson cuts and polishes layers of coloured glass into bulbous tabletop sculptures.
