British artist Grayson Perry has created an installation for the Louis Vuitton New Bond Street Maison to coincide with Perry's exhibition at the British Museum, The Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman. The installation touches on ideas of craftsmanship, identity and contemporary culture, further exploring topics from the exhibition.
The installation centres around Perry's take on the brand's iconic trunk, which he has designed to become a shrine to avid blogger Alan Measles, his fifty year old teddy bear. The inside of the trunk is decorated with images of male and female folk figures, a bird and a tiger, and echoes a motorcycle he designed for the British Museum.
Also exhibited at Louis Vuitton New Bond Street are three dresses designed by BA students Morgan Levy, Min Nan Hui and Columbine Joubert, whom Grayson Perry tutors for the Fashion Print course at Central St Martin's School of Art.
Lastly, a film is played on loop which follows Perry's journey creating the exhibition for Louis Vuitton, which will run until the end of January 2012.
