Sugar Glass by Fernando Laposse

Central Saint Martin graduate Fernando Laposse is showing a range of edible glassware made from melted household sugar and food dye at New Designers this week.

Inspired by Murano glass art and cinema break away props, each tumbler is made using a low-tech rotational moulding machine.

As the user swirls the liquor around the tumbler, it will begin to dissolve into the drink, making it progressively sweeter.

Once the alcohol has been consumed, the glass can be used as a lollipop, and will melt away completely within a couple of days.
