Prometheus, Ridley Scott's long-awaited return to the world he created in Alien (1979), opens at UK box offices today - and design fans will spot Materia's Omni chair in a cameo role. Designed in 2007 by Carl Öjerstam, Omni is used in the film to furnish the ice white quarters of Meredith Vickers, played by Charlize Theron.
Marc Bird, Kinnarps UK's head of marketing, says of the news: "Set decorator Sonja Klaus decided its sleek silver and white styling was perfect for the futuristic vision of [this] particular area of the Prometheus space ship."
