The RBC Design Centre: a new design hub in Southern France

Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, the RBC Design Centre opened its doors a month ago in Montpellier, with 2000m² and nine levels dedicated to exploring all areas of design culture.

The centre boasts a 150m² platform dedicated to international design Editeurs, where classic meets on-trend, high-end and more accessible pieces sit side by side, and brands from each discipline are represented - from Alessi to Petite Friture.

Jean Nouvel asked lighting designer Yann Kersalé to create the lighting for the facade of the building. As for the architecture, he kept it as minimal and neutral as possible, "to let the objects be the colours and the life of the place."
