Ukrainian designer Andrey Bondarenko has created Omelette, an alternative supermarket display system for hen and quail eggs.

Constructed from alderwood, the system creates a method of artificial food selection (in a supermarket) which is a more ordered version of the way that food is originally gathered for consumption. The design ties into the larger trend for provenance in food (
read our previous blog post), and an emerging trend for foraging (subscribers can read our report,
A Forager's Tabletop).
